Samantha works as a programmes manager at Special Olympics Zambia and as an Administrator at Garden Youth Academy. She is a passionate supporter of girls in sport, having personally experienced gender discrimination as a child on the football pitch.
The Girls Sports Mentorship Program was founded in 2017. The initiative helps girls in sports to become leaders by paring them with influential female mentors.
In 2019, the programme added another dimension: providing young females in sports with no-collateral small business loans, low interest rates (10%), a flexible payment plan and a mentor to help grow the business. The aim is to reduce the level of female drop outs in sports due to economic disempowerment and to achieve gender equality on and off the field.
