Shani Davis Skates into Olympic History

In the 1000m event, Shani Davis skates into history, becoming the first black athlete from any nation to win an individual gold medal in the Winter Olympics. He earned gold in the 1000m event in just 1:08.89, and silver in the 1500m. Davis began making history at the age 17, when he became the first black speed skater to earn a spot in the US Olympic team in 2002.
