Marja Lissa Hamalainen Becomes a Superstar

At the 1984 Winter Games Marja Lissa Hamalainen shines as she becomes a superstar. She claims the 20km gold medal, crossing the line in 1:01:45.0, followed by Raisa Smetanina and Anne Jahre. Hamalainen went on to win the gold medal in all 3 individual cross country skiing events (5, 10 and 20 km) and bronze in the team event, becoming the most successful athletes at these Games.
