    Amy Van Dyken had her Olympic debut in swimming at the Atlanta 1996 Summer Games.   Before the 50 metres freestyle final began, she had already won three Olympic gold medals in the medley and freestyle 4x100m relays, and in the 100m butterfly race. Now, Amy Van Dyken had the world champion and a world record holder Le Jingyi from China beside her lane for the 50 metres final.   Amy Van Dyken says that, at this moment, she told herself “Just go for it. Just have fun.” As she realised she had won the race - still in the water - Amy celebrated enthusiastically, showing she was definitely having fun.   Her fourth Olympic gold medal Amy made her the first American woman to win four gold medals in a single edition of the Olympic Games.

    Mario Kindelan arrived at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games to defend his position as current Olympic champion from Sydney 2000 and take another medal.   At age 33, Kindelán had reached the final and was now to face Britain's 17 year-old promise Amir Khan.   The fight began with Khan showing his talent, getting to a single point lead at the end of the first round. During the second round though, the Cuban athlete came back to dominate the combat with a five point margin at 14-9. Keeping control of the scoreboard until the end of the fight, Mario Kindelán took the Olympic gold medal for the second time with a 30-22 score.   Immediately after being declared victor, the two time Olympic champion approached his opponent's corner and congratulated Amir Khan, who was now the youngest British Olympic boxing medalist ever.
