Prior to that, she had a brilliant sports career in ski half-pipe with three World Championship titles and three World Cup victories, all the while working hard to move the discipline towards total male-female equality.     Russia win double gold on a sporting day of wrestling action

    There were two wrestling golds for Russia on day 9 at the Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018. Akhmedkhan Tembotov and Sergei Kozyrev dominated the 80kg and 110kg categories respectively, while Uzbekistan’s Umidjon Jalolov and Azerbaijan’s Turan Bayramov won gold in the 48kg and 65kg. However, the story of the day was USA’s Robert Howard’s sporting gesture after defeating local favourite Hernan David Almendra in the 55kg.

    Russian duo take mixed BMX team honours

    Russia’s Varvara Ovchinnikova and Ilia Beskrovnyy won gold in an enthralling mixed BMX team competition at the Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018 on Sunday. Completing the podium behind them were Switzerland’s Kevin Schunck and Zoe Claessens in second, and Juan Camilo Ramirez Valencia and Gabriela Bolle Carrillo of Colombia in third.
