    London 2012 - Team GB utterly dominated the Track Cycling at the Velodrome. Chris Hoy took his Olympic gold medal tally to six with two more to become the country's greatest ever Olympian, and there were double successes for Jason Kenny and Laura Trott. On the roads, Tour de France victor Bradley Wiggins took gold in the Road Cycling Time Trial while Marianne Vos of the Netherlands won gold on The Mall in a thrilling climax to the women's Road Race.

During the points race, she moved up from a fifth place in the final sprint to the silver medal.   When Zijlaard-van Moorsel switched to the road, she won the road time trial. And finally, in an exciting road race that ended with a photo-finish contest to define the silver and bronze medalists, Leontien Zijlaard-van Moorsel won the Olympic gold medal.
