    In 2002 Lindsey Vonn participated in her 1st Olympics at 17 years of age, finishing 6th in the combined and 32nd in the slalom. In 2006, she managed to finish 7th in the super G, 14th in the slalom and 8th in the downhill. But it was in 2010 when Vonn finally achieved the dream, winning gold by .56 seconds in the downhill, becoming the 1st American female to win this event. She also captured the super G bronze.
