    More than ten thousand athletes in Beijing dream of taking home a medal from the 2008 Olympic Games. Beijing's Central Academy of Fine Arts won the domestic competition to design the medals for Beijing 2008. The medals feature the traditional Greek god of victory on one side and are inlaid with jade from Qinghai province on the reverse. The first of 302 medal presentations takes place on Day 1 at the Beijing Shooting Range Hall.
