    Today at PyeongChang 2018: Friday 16 February

    Seven titles are up for grabs today at PyeongChang, with the men’s skeleton first up, followed by the women’s slalom and men’s super-G in Alpine Skiing. The men’s cross-country skiers will be taking on the 15km freestyle, the women are up in the snowboard cross, ski jumpers will be heading to Phoenix Park and the women’s 5,000m speed skating is on. Also on is the women's freestyle skiing event. The men’s figure skating also kicks off with the short programme.

    Shiffrin wins giant slalom gold number two

    Mikaela Shiffrin (USA) has won gold in the women’s giant slalom at PyeongChang 2018, adding to the slalom title she won at Sochi 2014. Norway’s Ragnhild Mowinckel took silver at the Yongpyong Alpine Centre, while Federica Brignone of Italy took bronze.

    Today at PyeongChang 2018: Thursday 15 February

    More gold medals are up for grabs today on the snow and ice: the men’s downhill, the women's slalom, the men’s biathlon 20km individual, the women’s 10km free in cross-country skiing, the men’s snowboard cross, the luge team relay and the men’s speed skating 10,000m, while, in the figure skating the pairs competition reaches its conclusion with the free programme.

    Team player Worley ready for multi-medal challenge at PyeongChang 2018

    As well as being the reigning world champion in giant slalom, Tessa Worley is a member of the French quartet that holds the world title in the team event, which is set to make its Olympic debut in 2018. Moreover, her strong recent showings in the super-G suggest she will be in the running for as many as three medals in PyeongChang.

    Nigerian Women’s Bobsleigh Team joins Team Visa for the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018

    Worldwide TOP Partner Visa has welcomed to its team three additional athletes who make up the Nigerian Women’s Bobsleigh Team, currently training to become the first-ever African representatives, men or women, to qualify for the Olympic Winter Games in the sport of bobsleigh. Together, bobsleigh pilot Seun Adigun, and brakemen Ngozi Onwumere and Akuoma Omeoga, are combining their elite track and field backgrounds to chase their bobsleigh dreams.

    Shiffrin ready to make more history at PyeongChang 2018

    No female skier has ever managed back-to-back Olympic golds in the slalom, and only one, Switzerland’s Vreni Schneider (1988 and 1994), has won it more than once. Now, Mikaela Shiffrin, who has dominated the event since the age of 17, looks ideally placed to break the mould at the next Winter Games in PyeongChang. And her ambitions won’t be stopping there. Having claimed the large crystal globe in the 2017 FIS World Cup, as the season’s top overall female Alpine skier, she is expected to challenge for gold in other events too.
