    Over 1,600 participants from all walks of life are to take part this week in the Olympism in Action Forum taking place on 5 and 6 October in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Olympism in Action Forum is a direct result of the Olympic Agenda 2020 reforms and takes place ahead of the Youth Olympic Games 2018. The two-day event will create a platform for diverse voices to share thinking and ideas on the overarching trends that affect the future of sport. The Olympism in Action Forum is an invitation from the IOC to welcome more people into the conversation.

    Flying dentist sprints to success

    There were four gold medals up for grabs in the men’s speed skating, and three of them went to Ard Schenk of the Netherlands. The one he failed to win was the sprint event, the 500m. It was expected to be a battle between the 1971 world sprint champion Erhard Keller of East Germany, and the Soviet skater Valery Muratov, who had won the same title the year before.
