With two Olympic gold medals, three European Championship titles and six World Championship titles, the men's French handball team have the best track record in the world. Nicknamed "Les Experts", they reached the sport's summit by winning the Olympic gold medal in Beijing on 24 August 2008, and have remained there ever since. Their sights are currently set on qualifying for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, as they continue down the path to victory. -
Paris 2024 Olympic & Paralympic Week doubles its outreach
The third edition of Olympic and Paralympic Week (Semaine Olympique et Paralympique, SOP) was officially launched on Monday at Dora Maar Secondary School in Seine-Saint-Denis, northern Paris, with more than 1,000 projects extolling the values and benefits of sport getting under way in educational establishments from nursery schools to universities across France. -

Great Danes and regal Russians reign supreme in the Rio 2016 handball
Denmark’s men defied all predictions as they ended the extended reign of France, defeating the outgoing handball champions 28-26 in the final on the last day of competition at Rio 2016. The previous day, the French women’s team also lost out in the final, going down 22-19 to Russia. -

Denmark won their first ever Olympic gold medal in men's handball at Rio’s Future Arena 21 August, overcoming the defending French champions to win 28-26 in a thrilling final. -
