    From the Olympic Games Beijing 2008 to Tokyo 2020, the French handball team continue to make history

    With two Olympic gold medals, three European Championship titles and six World Championship titles, the men's French handball team have the best track record in the world. Nicknamed "Les Experts", they reached the sport's summit by winning the Olympic gold medal in Beijing on 24 August 2008, and have remained there ever since. Their sights are currently set on qualifying for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, as they continue down the path to victory.

    Usain Bolt's title is up for grabs at Tokyo 2020!

    Eleven years ago, on 20 August 2008, Usain Bolt became a two-time Olympic champion in the 100m and 200m, setting two world records in the process. He achieved this feat twice, with victories for Jamaica in the 4x100m relay, bringing his total to eight gold medals, an all-time record in sprinting. Today, hopefuls are preparing themselves and queuing up to follow in his footsteps in the 100m and 200m races at Tokyo 2020.

    Pan-Am Games athletes engage in Believe in Sport campaign

    Athletes participating in the 2019 Pan-American Games, which are taking place in the Peruvian capital, Lima, from 26 July to 11 August 2019, have shown a keen interest in the International Olympic Committee (IOC)’s Believe in Sport campaign, aimed at protecting them and preventing competition manipulation.  In addition, PanAm Sports’ General Assembly was briefed about the IOC’s strategy and its first comprehensive implementation at such a continental multi-sports event which involves the application of regulations, awareness-raising measures and monitoring/intelligence.

In the years that followed, he took gold at the European and World Championships and the Commonwealth Games, before retaining his Olympic title at Los Angeles 1984, setting a world record that would last for eight years. He is one of the greatest champions in the combined event’s history, which stretches back over a century.
