The Austrian Alpine ski racer and Olympic champion Benjamin Raich will be a Winter Youth Olympic Games Ambassador for Innsbruck 2012, which will take place from 13 to 22 January 2012.

Joan Benoit becomes an Olympic champion at the 1984 Games, when the women's marathon is first introduced as an Olympic sport. After recovering from a knee surgery, Benoit manages to cross the finish line first in 2:24.52, almost four minutes ahead of Grete Waitz. Rosa Mota of Portugal claims the bronze medal in 2:26.57. As loyal YOG fans will know from our “behind the scenes story” on the Cube just a few weeks ago, earlier this year we got the opportunity to spend the day filming with YOG Ambassador Benni Raich in and around Innsbruck, the region where the Alpine skier is from. Who would have known that as well as being an awesome athlete, Benni would be a natural in front of the camera?

It wasn’t all mucking around with Yoggl when we went to film YOG Ambassador Benni Raich in Innsbruck. The Alpine skier, who comes from the region, also took some time out to speak to some local athletes about what it takes to be an Olympic champion and take them through a few simple stretches - and we were there to capture it on camera.

Highlights from one of the first medaled event of the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games. The Men's Triathlon was hotly contested by a total of 32 athletes ranging from 15 to 17 years old with Great Britain's Ben Dijkstra, the youngest athlete in the competition eventually taking the Gold.

16-year-old Oregon native Ben Ferguson (USA) flew much higher than any of his rivals to win the Innsbruck 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games Half-pipe Gold with a score of 93.25 points. He was followed by Tim-Kevin Ravnjak (SLO), who secured Silver with 86.75 and Taku Hiraoka (JPN), who took the Bronze medal with a score of 84.25.
