The five events – downhill, super-G, super combined, giant slalom and slalom - produced five different winners, underlining the intensity of the competition on the slopes of Rosa Khutor. They included the oldest ever Alpine gold medallist, the oldest to win a medal of any colour, and the youngest male skier to feature on the podium. At the top of the podium, there was long awaited super giant joy for Ted Ligety and three genuine surprises. -
