    Adam Kiss triumphs in a great K-1 sprint final

    The gold medal in the K-1 sprint went to Hungary: Adam Kiss earned it when he outraced Belgium’s Vangeel in another grand Youth Olympic finale. Local canoeist Valentin Rossi lived up to expectations and won a bronze medal in Puerto Madero. Elsewhere, Uzbekistan’s Gulbakhor Fayzeva was imperious as she won gold in the women's canoe head to head sprint final.

    Paddlers take centre stage at Puerto Madero

    After four days of rowing, on Friday 12 October the action at Urban Park shifted to canoeing and kayaking. And huge crowds, spurred by Argentinian interest, gathered to see Eszter Rendessy of Hungary claim the first gold in women’s K-1 sprint, while Kazakhstan’s Dias Bakhraddin clinched victory in the men’s C-1 competition.

    Judo joy for Germany’s Igl and Kazakhstan’s Saduakas

    Day three of the judo competition at the Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018 brought gold for Germany’s Rafaela Igl in the women’s -78kg category and Kazakhstan’s Berkarys Saduakas in the men’s -100kg.
