Men’s freestyle skiers fly high at Phoenix Snow Park
Canadian moguls master Mikael Kingsbury finally ended his quest for Olympic gold, while the USA’s David Wise retained his halfpipe crown. Norway’s Øystein Braaten reigned supreme in the slopestyle, another Canadian, Brady Leman prevailed in the ski cross and Oleksandr Abramenko won the aerials to give Ukraine just its third ever Winter Olympic gold. -
Kingsbury primed for maiden Olympic gold
Canada’s Mikael Kingsbury is widely regarded as the best moguls skier of all time. He capped a majestic 2016/17 season by winning a sixth consecutive overall FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup title and a sixth straight small crystal globe. Despite all his success, he is yet to win an Olympic gold, as he was pipped to the top of the podium at Sochi 2014 by compatriot Alexandre Bilodeau. -

Today at PyeongChang 2018: Monday 12 February
Seven gold medals are up for grabs on what promises to be an action-packed day. Both male and female biathletes will go for glory in the pursuit; while the figure skating team event reaches its conclusion in Gangneung. The freestyle skiers will battle it out in the men’s moguls final, while the destiny of the gold medal in the women’s snowboard slopestyle will also be decided. Back in Gangneung, the spotlight shines on the women’s 1,500m speed skating, and the Alpensia Ski Jumping Centre will see the culmination of the second ever women’s Olympic ski jumping competition. -
Japanese moguls sensation Horishima ready for PyeongChang
Ikuma Horishima took the moguls world by storm in March 2017, becoming the first person to complete a moguls/dual moguls double at the FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships in Sierra Nevada. A relative unknown prior to his stunning performance, the Japanese skier was the winner of the last stage of the World Cup before PyeongChang 2018, and will figure large among the favourites for gold at Phoenix Park on 12 February. -
Men’s freestyle skiing: Style kings reign supreme at Rosa Khutor
With two new events – slopestyle and halfpipe – added to the freestyle ski programme for Sochi 2014 there was no shortage of excitement on offer at Rosa Khutor. Canada’s Alex Bilodeau bossed the moguls yet again, there were clean sweeps for USA in the slopestyle and for France in the ski cross, while Anton Kushnir underlined Belarus mastery of the aerials, and David Wise showed why he is the halfpipe king. -

Third straight win for Bilodeau
Olympic champion Alexandre Bilodeau made it three consecutive World Cup victories on Sunday, winning the freestyle skiing event in Val Saint-Come (CAN) to set down another marker ahead of Sochi 2014.
