    After coming in 7th place in the 1st qualification run, Shaun White needed to produce a perfect 2nd one to earn a spot in the halfpipe final, he produced a flawless run getting the highest score of the event to that point. In the final, Shaun White executes a backside 900 and two 1,080° frontside airs, getting a near perfect score of 46.8 points out of a possible 50, claiming Olympic gold.
