    Carina Vogt makes ski jumping history

    She wasn’t the favourite, but on the day, on the normal hill in Rosa Khutor for the first women’s Olympic ski jumping competition, Carina Vogt triumphed with her very first jump. The German champion thus made her mark on history, and now has the most FIS World Championships ski jumping titles, with five individual and team gold medals!

    The legend of Sir Steve Redgrave, the only rower to have won five gold medals

    Only one rower has won five gold medals at five consecutive editions of the Olympic Games. From Los Angeles 1984 to Sydney 2000, in various boats, on each occasion Sir Steve Redgrave stepped up onto the highest level of the podium. He ended his career on a high at the age of 38, on 23 September 2000, when he won his last title with the British coxless four.
