    In December 2017, eight athletes (Inna DYUBANOK, Ekaterina LEBEDEVA, Ekaterina PASHKEVICH, Anna SHIBANOVA, Ekaterina SMOLENTSEVA, Galina SKIBA, Tatiana BURINA and Anna SHCHUKINA) from the Russian Team competing in the Ice Hockey Women's event, in which they ranked 6th, have been disqualified from the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, in 2014 by the IOC Disciplinary Commission chaired by Mr Oswald. The Russian Team is disqualified from the Women’s Ice Hockey Event. Please note that such decision is subject to appeal to the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS).     OFFERMANN nets hat-trick as Germany beats Slovakia 8-0 in Women's Ice Hockey

    Captain Valerie Offermann hit a hat-trick as Germany crushed Slovakia 8-0 in Women's Ice Hockey, but she was quick to point out that the win was more important than her scoring feat. The resounding victory was Germany's first of the Innsbruck 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games, after it was beaten 11-0 by Sweden on Friday. "It feels good," she said of her three goals. "But it feels better that we win with the whole team."
