    London 2012 - Canoeing at London 2012 saw veterans shine again and new, emerging talent firmly establish itself on the international scene. In the men's K1, Italian world champion Daniele Molmenti cemented his place in the sport while Frenchman Tony Estanguet won gold in the men's C1 as expected. In the women's K1 France's Emilie Fer saw off a challenge from Slovakian world number one Jana Dukatova, while Australia's Jessica Fox came second to win silver. Meanwhile, Etienne Stott and Tim Baillie landed a GB one-two, as they claimed gold ahead of countrymen David Florence and Richard Hounslow to start a new era for Britain in the men's C2.

    Attila Sandor Vajda of Hungary claims his first gold medal in the men's C1 1000m. Vajda, bronze medallist in Athens and world number one, becomes an Olympic champion by crossing the line first in 3:50.467, just a couple of seconds ahead of reigning Olympic champion David Cal, who has to settle for silver.     Tim Brabants Wins 1st Gold for GB in Canoeing

    Tim Brabants of Great Britain, leads from start to finish to receive the gold medal in the men's kayaking 1000m. Brabants, bronze medallist in Sidney, crosses the line in 3:26.323, winning the first ever canoeing gold medal for his country. Eirik Veraas Larsen of Norway, claims silver in 3:27.342, finishing just inches ahead of Ken Wallace, who settles for bronze.
