Even though he's been assessed a 2 seconds penalty, Martikan manages to finish 2 seconds ahead of David Florence, claiming gold with a combined score of 176.65. Florence settles for silver and Robin Bell takes the bronze. Martikan became the first athlete to win an Olympic gold medal for Slovakia in 1996.
