    In October 2016, Zulfiya CHINSHANLO of Kazakhstan, competing in the Women's 53kg Weightlifting event, in which she ranked first and for which she was awarded the gold medal, has been disqualified from the Games of the XXX Olympiad. In November 2016, Cristina IOVU of Republic of Moldova, competing in the Women's 53kg Weightlifting event, in which she ranked 3rd and for which she was awarded the bronze medal, has been disqualified from the Games of the XXX Olympiad. London 2012 - Zulfiya Chinshanlo of Kazakhstan takes on Shu-Ching Hsu of Chinese Taipei in the final of the women's 53kg weightlifting. Chinshanlo, just 19, won gold and set a world record of 131 kg for the clean and jerk. Cristina Iovu of the Republic of Moldova took bronze.

Prapawadee sets an Olympic record and wins gold for Thailand in women's weightlifting. Prapawadee lifts an Olympic record 126kg in the clean and jerk to secure first with 221kg.     Kim Un Guk's stunning weightlifting gold - highlights

    London 2012 - Kim Un Guk triumphed to win gold in style for DPR Korea in an exciting men's 62kg Weightlifting competition which saw Olympic and world weightlifting records tumble. Kim followed up a snatch of 153kg - breaking the Olympic record and equalling the world best - with a clean and jerk of 174kg, giving a stunning personal best total of 327, which also eclipsed both records.
