    Tickets for the Lausanne 2020 Opening Ceremony on sale starting November 21st

    The Lausanne 2020 Organising Committee is pleased to announce that its online ticketing platform will open on November 21 at 11a.m. This platform will enable the public to purchase tickets to the Opening Ceremony held on January 9th, 2020 (7:30 p.m.) and to register – free of charge – to attend the Games’ indoor competitions.

    Boxing Road to Tokyo 2020 - Athlete Ambassadors Group announced

    Ten Athlete Ambassadors have been appointed by the Olympic Boxing Task Force (BTF) to engage with and represent boxers in the lead-up to the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. One female and one male Ambassador per region will take on the role of engaging with the boxing community both in person and digitally. They will also help the BTF take into account the athletes’ voice in all areas of its planning for the qualification events and the boxing tournament at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

    Paris 2024 unveils new Olympic and Paralympic Games emblem

    The Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 has unveiled its new emblem. It was revealed following an innovative launch ceremony, which saw over 700 runners – led by Olympic and Paralympic medallists including Renaud Lavillenie, Nantenin Keita and Sarah Ourahmoune – run different routes around the centre of Paris and Saint-Seine-Denis, forming the outline of the new Paris 2024 emblem. The emblem was then revealed in full on a giant screen at the Grand Rex cinema in Paris at precisely 20.24.

    Luis Scola – The link between two golden generations of Argentinian basketball players

    The Argentinian basketball team pulled off one of the greatest feats in their country’s sporting history by winning the gold medal at Athens 2004, having knocked out the USA in the semi-final. They were the “Golden Generation” who inspired basketball players throughout Argentina, including the teenagers who shone at the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Buenos Aires 2018. Luis Scola was a key part of that 2004 triumph, and has remained a crucial member of the team which reached the final of the 2019 FIBA World Cup and, in doing so, qualified for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.
