    The Alpine skiing competitions come to a close with the brand new mixed team event, while there are three snowboard golds to be won: in the men’s big air and the men’s and women’s parallel giant slalom. Also on the cards on the penultimate day of the Games are the men’s and women’s speed skating mass start events, the men’s 50km mass start classic in cross-country skiing, the men’s final and the women’s bronze medal match in curling, and the third place match in the men’s ice hockey.

    Bjoergen becomes most medalled Winter Olympian of all time

    On 21 February 2018, Norway's Marit Bjoergen cemented her place in the Pantheon of the greatest Winter Olympians. Her bronze in the women’s cross-country team sprint took her medals total to 14 (seven of them gold), surpassing the previous benchmark set by her compatriot, biathlete Ole Einar Bjoerndalen. She still needs one win to match his tally of eight golds.

    Norway duo surge to team sprint free gold

    Norway’s Martin Johnsrud Sundby and Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo joined forces to power Norway to gold in the PyeongChang 2018 men’s team sprint free final at the Alpensia Cross-Country Skiing Centre on Wednesday 21 February. It was Norway’s second gold in the event, following their victory at Vancouver 2010.

    The women’s Alpine skiing downhill is one of the highlights of a day awash with medal events, which also includes men’s ski cross, the men’s and women’s team sprint free in cross-country skiing, the men’s and women’s team pursuits in speed skating and the women’s bobsleigh.     Bjoergen wins historic 13th medal as Norway win women’s 4x5km relay gold

    Marit Bjoergen skied a triumphant final leg to write her name into the Olympic Winter Games history books, delivering gold for Norway in the women's 4x5km cross country relay at the Alpensia Cross Country Centre on Saturday 17 February. In doing so, she joined countryman Ole Einar Bjoerndalen as the most successful winter Olympian of all time on 13 medals.
