    In October 2016, Wilfredo MARTINEZ of Cuba, competing in the Athletics Men's Long Jump event, in which he ranked 5th, has been disqualified from the Games of the XXIX Olympiad. Irving Saladino leaps to gold for Panama in the men's long jump. Khotso Mokoena of South Africa registers a jump of 8.24m in the fourth round, but Saladino puts in an effort of 8.34m which secures first place.
