With just over three years to go, Buenos Aires 2018 has proudly unveiled its emblem today for the third Summer Youth Olympic Games.

A tribute video to President Jacques Rogge played at the closing of the 125th International Olympic Committee Session in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

A group of 20 young Malaysian badminton players with their sights set on the next Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in Buenos Aires in 2018 were given added motivation today to strive for success by a visit from IOC President Thomas Bach.

Wrestling officials and athletes representing their sport at the 125th IOC Session in Buenos Aires happily greeted today’s inclusion of wrestling as an additional sport on the Olympic programme for the Summer Olympic Games in 2020 and 2024 by the full IOC membership. The other two sports in the race for one open slot were baseball/softball and squash.

Thomas Bach of Germany was elected as the ninth President of the International Olympic Committee following two rounds of votes at the 125th IOC Session in Buenos Aires, Argentina. “Thank you very much to all of you,” said Bach following his election. “Let us, this great universal orchestra of IOC members, play together in harmony towards a bright future for the Olympic Movement under the leadership of the IOC.”
