She has been partnered with Zachary Donohue since May 2011. The pair dated for over two years but decided after failing to qualify for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi to end their romantic relationship but keep their professional relationship. "To work harder and do all of these things right, we just realised that to date and be with each other 24-7 with our particular personalities was just explosive. We weren't able to keep our focus where it needed to be. We had to ask ourselves what was more important, our on-ice partnership or our off-ice relationship? And we both very clearly said the on-ice partnership is No.1." (Facebook team page, 18 Jan 2018;, 08 Nov 2017)

Her mother Susan Hubbell is a seamstress and makes the costumes for her and partner Zachary Donohue. "It is very special, I definitely feel a big connection to her support when I'm able to wear something she's made. It's nice to take a piece of her out there on the ice with me." Together with her mother they have also created a lifestyle brand named Splash Madison. (, 03 Jan 2018; Splash Madison Facebook page, 18 Nov 2017)
