HISTORIC ACHIEVEMENTS
At the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang, she became the first female biathlete to win gold in both the sprint and pursuit events at a single Olympic Winter Games. At the 2017 World Championships in Hochfilzen, Austria, she became the first athlete, male or female, to win five gold medals at a single edition of the biathlon world championships. She also won a silver medal at the event, taking her tally to six medals at the tournament and 11 consecutive medals in world championship races [a streak that began when she won five medals at the 2016 edition].
