Winner's medal Salt Lake City 2002

On the reverse of the medal, we can see in the centre a modern representation of Nike, Goddess of Victory. She holds a leaf in her hand symbolising the laurel crown presented to the champions of Antiquity. Within the arch formed by her arm is a representation of the discipline in which the medal was won. The contours of the medal are taken up by various inscriptions such as “Salt Lake 2002” and the name of the event won by the athlete ©IOC
