Runners make a splash

London 2012 - Women’s steeplechase runners leap over a barrier and splash in the water jump. The event originated in the British Isles where runners raced from one town’s steeple to the other jumping fences and crossing streams enroute. The event debuted for women in the Olympics at Beijing in 2008.
