Winner's medal Athens 2004
The reverse of the medal features several symbolic elements: an Olympic cauldron containing a burning flame, the official Athens 2004 logo, the Olympic rings, and, engraved in Ancient Greek, the first verse of the Eighth Olympic Ode of Pindar, composed in 460 BC in honour of the victory of Alcimedon of Aegina in wrestling
