      The “XV Olympic Winter Games official report” is a well-structured work that is rich in content. It was published by OCO’88 as a bilingual French/English edition of over 700 pages.

      For this first edition of the Olympic Winter Games, the official report is included in that of the Olympic Summer Games, Paris 1024, “Les Jeux de la VIIIe Olympiade Paris 1924: rapport officiel”. Entitled “Les sports d’hiver”, the part concerning the Chamonix 1924 Games starts on page 643, at the end of section III. This very detailed official report was published in French only.

      Cortina d’Ampezzo 1956  Published by the Italian Olympic Committee in 1957, the “VII Olympic Winter Games, Cortina d'Ampezzo, 1956: official report” is extremely rich. It consists of one bilingual Italian/English volume of almost 800 pages.

      The official report, “IV Olympische Winterspiele 1936: Garmisch-Partenkirchen 6. bis 16. Februar: amtlicher Bericht”, is a 450-page work, published only in German.

      The “Xth Winter Olympic Games: official report” is composed of a two-volume set. Volume 1 addresses the preparation of the Games, and volume 2 their running and competition results. Published in 1969 as a bilingual French/English edition, this was the first official report of a Winter Games available in the IOC’s two official languages.

      Published late, in 1967, the official report of the 1964 Innsbruck Games was produced only in German under the title “Offizieller Bericht der IX. Olympischen Winterspiele Innsbruck 1964”. It consists of one 350-page volume.

      The work: “III Olympic Winter Games, Lake Placid 1932: official report” provides a very full report on the organisation and running of the Olympic Games and a detailed history of the pioneering role of Lake Placid in the development of winter sport. It consists of one 291-page volume, published in English.

      The official report of Lake Placid 1980 is composed of two volumes. The first, “Final report: XIII Olympic Winter Games, February 13-24, 1980,”does not contain any competition results. These are noted in the second volume, typewritten and rather austere. Indeed, the results were published again in 1984 by the IOC in a more reader-friendly edition.

      The “Official report of the XVII Olympic Winter Games Lillehammer 1994” was innovative in more ways than just its title. Published in 1995 by LOOC, it is composed of a small-format set in four volumes, published in three separate versions: French, English and Norwegian. Each set also contains a CD-ROM containing electronic versions of all the texts, as well as video clips.

      “The XVIII Olympic Winter Games: official report Nagano 1998” is composed of three volumes (Planning and support; Sixteen days of glory; Competition results and participants) and a CD-ROM containing the electronic versions of the official report and the film “From around the world: to flower as one”. The official report was published by NAOC in 1999 in three editions: French, English and Japanese.

      The official report, “VI Olympic Winter Games Oslo 1952” published by the Organising Committee is quite detailed. It consists of one bilingual English/Norwegian volume. It is thus the first bilingual official report of the Winter Games.

      The official report of Salt Lake City 2002 is composed of two large-format volumes and a CD-ROM. Volume 1, “Official report of the XIX Olympic Winter Games Salt Lake 2002”, was published in two versions – French and English. Volume 2, “The fire within: 12 photographers' quest to capture the Olympic spirit” is available in English only. The CD-ROM provides the competition results in a bilingual version.

      The work “The XI Olympic Winter Games Sapporo 1972: official report” was produced in 1973 as a bilingual French/English publication. The report is the first to contain numerous colour illustrations. There is also a Japanese edition.

      The “Final report Sarajevo'84” is a fairly modest official report which does, however, contain the main pieces of useful information, available as a trilingual French, English and Serbo-Croat edition.

      The Official Report published by the Organising Committee for the Olympic Games Sochi 2014 is composed of a box set containing a commemorative book (published in English and Russian) as well as four CD-ROMs, dealing with various aspects related to the organisation and running of the Games:

      Vol. 1: Presentation of Sochi’s candidature. - Vol. 2: Commemorative book (also available in print, but only in English and Russian). - Vol. 3: Preparation of the Olympic Games (English and French versions) and Paralympic Games (English version only).- Vol. 4: Official results of the Games (trilingual document – English, French and Russian). The last CD also contains the list of Olympic and Paralympic medallists (bilingual – English and Russian).

      The official report of St. Moritz 1928 is composed of two very brief volumes. The first, “Rapport général du Comité exécutif des IImes Jeux Olympiques d'hiver et documents officiels divers”, provides an official report on the organisation and running of the Games. The second, “Résultats des concours des IImes Jeux Olympiques d'hiver organisés à St. Moritz, 1928” lists the results by discipline. The two volumes were published in 1928, in French only.

      As for the first St. Moritz Games in 1928, the “Rapport général sur les Ves Jeux Olympiques d'hiver, St-Moritz 1948” is very brief official report and was published in French only. The Games report contains fewer than 20 pages; the rest of the work is devoted entirely to the results of the Games.

      The official report of Torino 2006 is composed of three volumes, including three CD-ROMs. Volumes 1, “Final report”, and 2, “Sustainability report”, were published as a bilingual English/Italian edition. Only volume 3, a souvenir book entitled “Portraits”, is trilingual, including French. The three CD-ROMs contain, respectively: the “Final report”, the “Candidature report” as a trilingual version, and the full results by sport.

      The official report of Vancouver 2010 has a unique format: an official commemorative book published by Wiley, “With glowing hearts” and a multimedia set, “Post-Games report guide: the official report of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games”. This set contains an explanatory brochure, two CD-ROMs containing the official results and texts, as well as a commemorative film on DVD, “The Canada that now is”. The two volumes are fully bilingual – French and English
