Yuna Kim arrives at the first Winter Youth Olympic Games

It's easy to forget that the sport stars we have all come to admire began their incredible journeys to the top just like us... as humble sports fans! And it is this passion for sport that has brought figure skating Olympic champion Yuna Kim halfway across the world to the first Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck, Austria. Showing no signs of fatigue despite her long flight, the YOG Ambassador's first stop was, not unsurprisingly, the venue for the figure skating competition, Olympiaworld.

There she told us how excited she was about meeting the athletes and watching them compete: "I think the YOG is a great opportunity for the young athletes to get ready for bigger competitions like the Winter Olympic Games," she said.

At just 21, Yuna is only three years older that the oldest athletes at YOG. She was just 16 when she won her first senior international competition so knows something about dealing with pressure. So what are her words of advice to the competitors?

She said: "Just skate. Forget about the other competitors and just give of your best. The results will come."
