Young Ambassador Callum Ng on life after the Youth Olympic Games!
Roving reporter Sonali Prasad caught up with her YOG partner in crime, Callum Ng of Canada, on his role as a Young Ambassador in Singapore 2010 and what happened next…
What have you been doing since Singapore 2010?
I've worked in sports media as a radio host, reporter and writer. Now I'm Senior Writer/Producer for Olympic.ca! @CDNOlympicTeam is a great source for Canadian Olympic team news and stories.
What was your experience of the Youth Olympic Games?
It really was unforgettable. People say that all the time about things but I've never been as inspired and interested by a group of people as I was by the athletes and Young Ambassadors at the Youth Olympic Games.
What are you doing in Sochi 2014?
I am working on content for Olympic.ca, so I do a little bit of everything including producing, shooting, editing and hosting video content, writing sports stories, plus a little bit of social media content. In short, I share our athlete stories across all channels.
Favourite moment of your career so far?
Last night! Covering the women's hockey gold medal game here in Sochi was amazing.
What advice do you have for future Young Ambassadors?
Don't let one day of your Youth Olympic experience go by without doing everything you can to make it unforgettable...for yourself, and for the athletes.
Let their stories inspire you, and the world.
