YOG takeover at the FIS cross country World Cup in Lillehammer!

When the FIS cross country World Cup came to Lillehammer last weekend, they were welcomed in true YOG style! Students and volunteers, kitted out in Lillehammer 2016 attire, took over part of the course and made their presence known, so much so that part of the course has now been renamed Ungdomstoppen – Youth Hill!

Armed with bells, posters, Olympic rings sunglasses, miniskis and a pop-up face painting stand– the ‘Youth Hill’ created a fantastic atmosphere for the athletes and thousands of spectators alike! It was just a teaser of the wonderful spirit set to embrace Lillehammer in January 2016.

‘An experience I’ll never forget’ said Ali Assad after cheering on the athletes on the Youth Summit.

Innsbruck 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games cross country gold medallist Silje Theodorsen (NOR) made her World Cup debut at the event, finishing 16th in the 5km pursuit. Congratulations Silje on an impressive start to your World Cup career!
