Yelena Isinbayeva told IOC Young Reporters Kimiya and Allan…
Two-time Olympic gold medalist Yelena Isinbayeva credits youth-specific sporting events for getting her where she is today.“I was lucky because I had something similar to [YOG] in 1998 at the World Youth Games and it was a huge motivation for me,” Isinbayeva told IOC Young Reporter Kimiya Shokoohi.
The Russian champion made a stop in Singapore's Youth Olympic Village on Monday to try and motivate young athletes participating in the Youth Olympic Games. “I know what it's like, I was 16 once too,” she said. Dozens of young athletes huddled around the 28-year-old, waiting to hear the secret to Olympic success, or at least, to take a photo with the human version of it.
