Update of the Code of Ethics

Pursuant to Bye-law to Rule 22 of the Olympic Charter, the Executive Board has approved the addition of a new article to the IOC Code of Ethics as follows:

“Also, in the context of betting, participants in the Olympic Games must not, by any manner whatsoever, infringe the principle of fair play, show non-sporting conduct, or attempt to influence the result of a competition in a manner contrary to sporting ethics.”
