Led by Jean-Claude Killy, the IOC Coordination Commission for the XX Olympic Winter Games today, Tuesday 13 January, starts two days of meetings with the Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (TOROC). This is the sixth time in five years that the Coordination Commission will have met with TOROC. The Games will be held in Turin from 10 to 26 February 2006.

Minister of Foreign Affairs
The meeting will open with a plenary session in the presence of Franco Frattini, the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs delegated to the Olympic Games. TOROC President Valentino Castellani, CEO Paolo Rota, and Deputy CEO Marcello Pochettino will provide an update on the progress of TOROC’s activities during the past six months.

The IOC and TOROC representatives will then go into working groups in order to discuss in greater depth the various operational aspects of the Games. Working group topics will include press services, marketing, city operations, communication, accommodation, finance and ticketing. A venue tour will give IOC members and staff a chance to see first-hand the progress being made on preparing the city for the Games.
