TORINO 2006: Paralympic Tickets Now Available

Tickets for the IX Paralympic Winter Games went on sale on 2 June 2005, coinciding with the fourth Paralympic Day celebrations. About 200,000 tickets for 47 Paralympic events will be available to the general public.

Full General Admission ticket prices for all single events will be EUR 12 (EUR 8 for reduced price tickets), except for the Opening Ceremony, the Closing Ceremony and the ice sledge hockey gold/silver final game, which have another pricing structure. Reduced tickets are available to children between the ages of 2 and 14, senior citizens over 60 years of age and groups of more than 20 people. Schools will also benefit from special prices - apart from for the three above-mentioned exceptions - as well as from specific programmes that will be set up to involve students in the events and to take them to see the competitions.

Where Can I Get Tickets?
The Italian public can purchase tickets for the Paralympic Games either via the official website:, at one of the 3,000 branches of the Sanpaolo Group, through one of the 400 TicketOne sales points or via the ticketing call centre on 848 88 2006. Disabled customers can also book their tickets through a dedicated channel at the call centre, with operators ready to answer any questions and handle any particular needs. Within the European Economic Area, tickets can be bought either through the website or via the call centre on +39 039 83 82 50. In the rest of the world, tickets can be purchased from the local National Paralympic Committee.

Strength And Spirit
To help promote the ticketing campaign by conveying the strength and the spirit of the Paralympics, four adverts portraying four Paralympic athletes will be displayed at all the ticketing sales points in Italy, as well as on the ticketing website. The athletes involved in the campaign are Florian Planker, Gianmaria Dal Maistro and Melania Corradini from Alpine skiing, and Michael Stampfer from Alpine skiing and ice sledge hockey.

IX Paralympic Games
The XX Olympic Winter Games will be held from 10 to 26 February 2006; the IX Paralympic Games will take place from 10 to 19 March 2006. Over 600 disabled athletes will compete in the Paralympics in five different disciplines: Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, biathlon, wheelchair curling and ice sledge hockey. Seventy medals will be awarded during the Paralympic Games.
