The IOC sends condolences to the Polish Olympic Family

On behalf of the Olympic family, the IOC President expresses his sincere condolences to all the members of the Polish Olympic Committee and the Olympic and sports movement in Poland for the sudden death of their President and our dear friend Piotr Nurowski in the tragic event affecting Poland, and conveys our deepest sympathy to Piotr’s family and friends.

“Piotr’s death is a great loss for us all and for the Olympic Movement as a whole”, said Rogge. “His extraordinary commitment and enthusiasm promoting the values of sport and Olympism in Poland, as well as his great contribution to the Olympic Movement in Europe, will remain in our memory forever. He was a great friend and we will miss him terribly."
