Swiss biathlete and YOG graduate Aita Gasparin qualifies for Sochi 2014!

The rising biathlon star had set her sights on competing at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games and, today, Aita’s hard work has paid off as she is one of 14 athletes selected by Swiss Olympic to be at the starting line this February.

In a few weeks’ time, Aita will be boarding the plane for Russia as a member of the Swiss biathlon relay team. Joining the 19-year-old will be her two elder sisters, Elisa and Selina – an Olympian herself -, who Aita will be able to turn to for any last-minute advice ahead of her big day.

Biathlon is a family affair for the Gasparin sisters, who made history at the World Cup in 2012 in Austria by becoming the first three siblings to take part in a relay competition together. And the Olympic Winter Games will soon run in the family too.

From the first Winter Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck in 2012, to the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Aita is certainly on track to achieving her goals, and all with a smile!

Join us in congratulating Aita, and we look forward to watching her at the starting line on 21 February living her Olympic dream!
