Restructuring of IOC Administration Creates Full-Time Director General Role

In the course of the restructuring its administration, the IOC announced today that the services of a full-time Director General will be needed for the future.

Given the choice, the present Director General, Mr François Carrard, has decided not to give up his law firm and other professional activities, and wishes to devote more time to these. A recruitment drive to fill the post of full-time Director General will therefore be launched in the coming weeks. Mr Carrard will maintain his position until such time as a new Director General is hired, and will then continue to serve the IOC, without executive or operational responsibilities, as senior advisor in charge of legal affairs, reporting directly to the IOC President, Dr Jacques Rogge.
