Re-launch for www.paralympic.org
In view of the Paralympic Games which will take place between 17 and 29 September in Athens, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has re-launched its official website www.paralympic.org. The new website will be continuously updated by the IPC with photos, news and information for all those interested in Paralympic sport, news and general info about the Paralympic Games and Movement.
For the first time, the IPC introduces an Athlete’s Forum, giving all athletes with a disability the chance to discuss issues and “meet” with other athletes online.
Live ticker from Athens
During the ATHENS 2004 Paralympic Games, the IPC website will also feature a section entitled Paralympic News, which will have frequent updates coming from all the events in Athens. A live ticker will keep the user up-to-date
and inform about highlights, records, etc.
“State of the art”
Miriam Wilkens, IPC Media and Communication Director, stated: “Our goal was
to make this website state of the art with regard to accessibility. The large amount of photos is inspiring and allows all to receive an idea of what Paralympic sport is about.”
