President Rogge in Moscow

During his visit to Moscow for the launch of the new brand of the 2014 Games in Sochi, International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Jacques Rogge was received by the President of  the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin. Their discussions covered the progress of preparations for the Games in 2014 and the support given by the highest levels of the Russian government to ensure their success.

President Rogge expressed the Olympic Movement’s sympathy for the families of those who died or were injured in the recent incident on the railway between Moscow and St Petersburg. At these meetings, the IOC President was accompanied by Jean-Claude Killy, the Chairman of the IOC Coordination Commission for the Games in Sochi.
