P&G say “Thank You, Mum” with opening of P&G Family Home

Worldwide Olympic Partner P held a special press event to recognise the role and contribution that mums play in supporting Olympians and to celebrate the opening of the P Family Home at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The P&G Family Home is a place where Olympians and their families can relax, unwind, and be together. In the P&G Family Home, the company will offer athletes, their mothers and families services provided by many of P&G’s trusted brands, such as beauty, grooming and laundry services and a Pampers playground.

P&G, which, in the run-up to the Games, has supported 150 athletes who have featured in advertising and retail programmes, has also offered a “Thank You, Mum” gift to mothers of Olympians. For some, the gift will help them travel to London to watch their child compete at the Olympic Games.

In addition, as part of P&G’s commitment to the Olympic Movement, the company asked hundreds of mothers what it could do to honour all that mothers do for their children. The response was to support the youth sports organisations around the world. So in January at the Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck, Austria, P&G committed to raise USD 5 million for youth sports programmes through sales of its brands.
