OMEGA celebrates London 2012 Olympic Games with ‘Start Me Up!’ campaign

Worldwide Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Games OMEGA has launched a global advertising campaign for the London 2012 Olympic Games featuring six world-class athletes and an instantly recognisable hit by one of London’s most iconic bands.

The television commercial, which is set to the Rolling Stones’ 1982 hit ‘Start Me Up’, stars Chinese diver Qiu Bo, US swimmer Natalie Coughlin, British heptathlete Jessica Ennis, US sprinter Tyson Gay, South African swimmer Chad Le Clos and US pole vaulter Jenn Suhr – all Olympic hopefuls and OMEGA Brand Ambassadors.

Filmed in South Florida and produced in 30- and 60-second versions, the spot focuses on the athletes’ routines and concentration in the pivotal minutes and seconds before competition.

The London 2012 Olympic Games has particular significance to OMEGA. It marks the 25th time the brand has assumed the role as Official Timekeeper and the 80th anniversary of OMEGA’s first Olympic Games.
