Olympic golfing first as Tony Gil hits hole-in-one in Nanjing

Sixteen-year-old Tony Gil (CAN) made history on Tuesday when he became the first person to hit a hole-in-one in Olympic golfing competition.

Gil, whose home course is the Eagle's Nest Golf Club in Vaughn, Ontario, aced the par three third hole at the Zhongshan International Golf Club course in Nanjing with a seven iron.

Along with the hole-in-one, Gil had four birdies and three bogeys to eventually card a three-under 69 and lie tied for fifth place behind joint leaders Marcus Kinhult (SWE) and Brett Coletta (AUS), who both shot 66.
