New record for www.olympic.org

New all-time record for www.olympic.org: 270,000 visitors on 14 August 2004. The old record was established the previous day with 135,000 visitors when, for the first time in its history, the website passed the symbolic figure of 100,000. In one day www.olympic.org doubled his statistics.

Previous record during Salt Lake City
The previous record was established during the Winter Games in Salt Lake City with a peak of 78,000 visitors on a specific day. These activities are ever more impressive given that www.olympic.org is a complement to the organiser’s site www.athens2004.com.

50,000 participants for website competition
The website competition on www.olympic.org, which allows participants to win the official video game of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, is proving a great success. So far, more than 50,000 participants have entered. Three hundred games are at stake, in either PC or Play Station 2 format.

Till 12 September 2004
To win the official video game of the Olympic Games, participants need to complete four questions, the answers to which can be found on the www.olympic.org site. The competition will run until 12 September. The winners will be chosen by prize draw.
