Leading sports medicine experts meet in Athens
The world's leading sports medicine experts will meet at the VIIth IOC Olympic World Congress on Sport Sciences in Athens from 7 to 11 October 2003. One thousand scientists from all over the world are participating and discussing the different aspects linked to the Congress’ theme: "Physical, Nutritional and Psychological Care of the Athlete in the 21st Century."
Joint organising committee
The congress is being organised jointly by the IOC Medical Commission, the Athens Organising Committee for the Games of the XXVIII Olympiad, the World Congress on Sport Sciences and the International Federation of Sports Medicine.
Best knowledge in sports science
In its welcoming address, the IOC Medical Commission underlines that this Congress will provide the world's leading sports medicine experts with an opportunity to present their work to an international audience made up of physicians, therapists, scientists and coaches. Exchanging and transferring knowledge are totally in line with the IOC and its Medical Commission's principle to allow the highest number of people to have access to the best knowledge in all fields related to sports sciences.
