Jensen and Orozco Loza find perfect international blend to take team diving gold

Norway's Daniel Jensen produced the "best" dives of his career to help win the gold medal in the mixed international team event at the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games on 27 August.

Jensen and partner Alejandra Orozco Loza (MEX) secured top spot on the podium with a strong performance on their final dive, scoring 75.20 for a 379.50 total.

“I've done the best I've done in my life,’’ said Jensen, who went on to express his delight at teaming up with Orozco Loza.

“She's a really, really talented diver. It was so much fun," he said. "I've seen her at several competitions and known her for a year or so."
The silver went to Wu Shengping (CHN) and Mohab Elkordy (EGY). Their score of 64.35 in their final dive gave them a total of 374.90.

The bronze was taken by Gracia Leydon Mahoney (USA) and Pylyp Tkachenko (UKR) with a score of 354.00.

Yang Hao (CHN) and Veronika Lindahl (SWE) were ninth.
With Wu and Yang having won the two individual medals available in the men's and women's competitions, Jensen was particularly pleased to have beaten the home favourites to gold.

“They're the best in diving. It's really amazing to beat China,” he said.
